Sonrise Turbo

Sonrise Turbo is our local stud. A fabulous Clyde/Stationbred, coloured stallion from the East coast,  leaves quiet strong offspring throwing coloured, dun and palomino foals. Just look at Peppy, Casper, as well as Morocco, McGinty, Kowhai, Cool Charm and Chase to name a few. Check out this season's "New Arrivals." Bruno

Bruno is a  jet black 15.3hh stationbred gelding from Gisborne. DOB 1998, Sired by Wagon Wheel. Bruno is kind and gentle and just a big softie. He is a great confidence builder for beginner to intermediate riders.

Sonrise Buster

Buster, by Sonrise Turbo, is a 15.2hh grey and white gelding. He  is also the grandson of White Roc. Buster was born down on the back blocks of the Motu on the East coast. He is a great ride for anyone who is nervous. He is quiet and gentle, and loves attention. 

This is Holistic. She is a lovely Stationbred, 15.2hh, Bay Mare. DOB 2005. Her breeding is from the Pintado Desperado line and will become an excellent jumper. For sale at $4000.00

Ritchie

Ritchie is a Dun, Stationbred Gelding from the east coast bay of Plenty. 14.1 hh. DOB 2005. He is a lovely strong type and can esily carry an adult Friendly by nature but still needs milage. He is well underway in his trekking career and is suited to the experienced rider. 3500.00

Dusty

Dusty is 15.2hh Appaloosa/Knabstrup mare. DOB 2001. Sturdy and strong, Dusty is great for Adult riders. Unflappable and confident in herself, she suits all levels of experience. Hunted with Maramarua 1 season. Very safe horse to ride. $4500.00

Elegance

Elegance or "Elle" is a striking grey  mare. DOB 1999. Elle is a quiet steady ride for the beginner to intermediate rider and a fantastic mother. Check out her progeny; Brave and Cool Charm and Elton

Cleopatra

Cleopatra  is a bay mare by Shug's Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Katie a Clyde/Stationbred. DOB 4 Dec 2003. Currently at 15.2hh we hope she will grow to 16hh. Mostly clyde in her breeding she is very quiet, strong and is working well. She suits the beginner to intermediate rider. She is a full sister to Gemma & Inga.

Sonrise McGinty

Sonrise McGinty, by Sonrise Turbo,  is a 15.1hh dun gelding. DOB 3 Oct 2001. This horse has fabulous colour and is very handsome. He is a full wire hunter and hunts with Maramarua. He loves it up the front or at the back. Competitively Show Jumps 1m with placings. McGinty is suitable for the intermediate to experience rider.

Moonshine

Moonshine hails from the East coast and is a cute 14.2hh palamino mare. DOB 2002. She is very quiet and laid back. Suitable for the beginner rider, she is a great addition to the Sonrise team and a good mother to her foals, Flint and Gospel.

Sonrise Morocco

Sonrise Morocco, by Sonrise Turbo, is our 15.1hh dun mare. DOB 7 July 2001. Morocco has developed into a great horse suitable for the intermediate rider. She is kind and steady. Sharon has hunted her 2 seasons.  A pleasure to ride.

Achilles

Archie is a 14.2hh bay and white Stationbred Sired by Officer Linmark, and hails from the east coast.  DOB 2005. He has a lovely quiet nature and is learning to jump. Suitable for the intermediate rider.

Polly

Polly is Gerald & Ted's favourite bay mare who hails from the Bay of Plenty and is an experienced hunter. She is a strong capable mare with heaps of spunk suiting an experienced rider. Whether you are mustering, hunting, showjumping or leading the trek Polly is an awesome ride!

Brandy

Brandy, 3/4 Stationbred 1/4 Clyde, is a piebald mare out of Choco and by 1 off Tui a Clyde/Stationbred. DOB 30 Dec 2004. She stands at 15.2 and is a stunning looking mare. She has a great nature and is a very steady mount. She has potential to be a great show jumper. Her foal Fletcher is very striking, and is now a serving stallion at Sonrise.

Gold Rush

Goldie, from Sonrise Turbo's bloodline, hails from Ruatoki in the Bay of Plenty and is a stunning golden palamino mare. DOB 2000.  Her foal, Dream is a beautiful dun filly by "Harry," a Clyde/Gisborne bred stallion. She is also the mother of Florrie and Glacier (now sold) who are by "Teddy".

Carlos

Carlos, hails from Gisborne. 15.2hh, grey crossbred gelding, athletic with a kind nature. Suited to the intermediate rider, he enjoys going out and about and jumping Now sold.

Tui

Tui. A black 15.2hh mare is Bruno's full sister. DOB 1999. She is originally bred at Tologa Bay Gisborne before moving to Weiti Station and then onto Sonrise. Her two foals by Weiti Jackpot are exceptional and have great colour. Check out Weiti Persia and Diva, (now sold). Tui is a nice responsive ride for the intermediate rider and has mothered beautifully coloured foals.

White Roc

White Roc is a 14.2 hh grey gelding, from Gisborne. DOB 1996. Whitey has a lovely friendly manner and is known to be very smart and cheeky. He will eat all your lollies if you're not careful.  White Roc will boost the confidence of the most nervous rider.

Thunder

Thunder is a big round 15.1hh, Gisborne bred softie who makes sure he looks after his rider. DOB 1994. Thunder only has 3 gears making him perfect for the absolute beginner or nervous rider.

Freda

Freda, 16.3hh,  is 3/4 Clyde 1/4 TB mare. She is by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Holly a Clyde/TB. DOB Oct 2004. She has an extremely quiet nature and is a fabulous safe mount on the hunt field.  

Jigsaw

Hi my name is Jigsaw. I am a 14.2hh bay and white gelding. I have come from the East coast with my buddy Puzzle. I have been at Sonrise for a while now and am suited to the intermediate rider. I love going out and about.

Puzzle

Hi I'm Puzzle. I'm a 14hh bay and white gelding from the East coast. Me and my mate Jigsaw love it here at Sonrise. I'm a quiet easy ride and look after beginners. Can't wait to meet you.

Black Jack

Black Jack is a Station bred gelding from the east coast. DOB 1992. He has stacks of character and unusual white markings around his eyes. He is honest, strong and steady, never putting a foot wrong. A real confidence booster for the intermediate rider. Now for sale due to an injury. Suited to light riding he has plenty of years left to please his rider. 500.00

Sonrise Casper

Casper is another Sonrise Turbo horse, bred in the Bay of Plenty. DOB 2001. A 14.1hh gelding, he is kind and willing suiting an intermediate rider. His golden dun and white colouring makes him very striking. He is a very capable jumper and has hunted 1 season with Maramarua. A real favourite with the campers.

Dodge

Dodge, DOB 2000,  is a 16.2hh, chestnut,  Clyde/Stationbred gelding.  Big and strong, he is suitable for adult riders. Dodge is a very safe hunter and Sharon has hunted him for 3 seasons. A popular Sonrise mount.

Boaz

Boaz is a Station bred gelding from the east coast. Grand sire Pintado Desperado. DOB 2004. Boaz has a quiet & laidback nature and is well suited to most riders. True to his line he has a fantastic jump and has enjoyed the odd hunt this season.

Barby

 Barby is a 14.3hh Appy/Stationbred mare from the east coast. DOB 2005. She has a lovely quite nature and is a safe ride. She is has being trained and enjoyed by the Smith family in Hamilton. Would make a super pony club mount. $4500.00

Misty

Misty, DOB 2003, by "Harry," a Clyde/Gisborne bred  stallion,  is a black and white mare from Gisborne. She has a very quiet nature and has enjoyed pig hunting and mustering. Misty is a nice looking mare and had her first foal to War Paint Scout, a lovely black and while filly, Gidget

Toast

Toast, a Gisborne bred/Appy gelding, has a lovely quiet nature and is suitable for a beginner rider. DOB 2003. He stands at 15.1hh.

Cloud

This stunning grey mare is Cloud. DOB 2001. She originates from the eastern BOP. She has a lovely nature and has bred a beautiful long legged foal named Storm.

Santos

Santos, DOB 2004, is a Welsh/Station bred Gelding. His sire was a Welsh Stallion called Storm Boy. Santos is very cute next to his huge friends when out on a trek. He will make a cute lead rein pony for children.

Big Sister

This is Big Sister, a coloured station bred mare. DOB 2002. Born and bred in Ruatoki country in the back blocks of the Bay of Plenty. Used for pig hunting, she is strong and sturdy but has a heap of get up and go if needed. Lovely mare to ride.

Sonrise Beacon

Beacon, 1/2 Clyde, 1/4 Gisborne, 1/4 Warmblood Gelding. By "Harry," a Clyde/Gisborne bred  stallion, out of Maddie a Clyde/Warmblood. DOB 15 Dec 2004.  His roan and white coat draw your eye but  it's his two blue eyes that capture your imagination. Beacon is slow and steady and enjoys trekking.

Sonrise Brave Heart

Sonrise Brave is another "Harry" youngster. DOB 17 Dec 2004. Approx 15.1. Brave is a very stylie sport horse type. His conformation, and quiet nature will make him a very desirable mount. His best buddy is Beacon and they enjoy camps together. A safe good looking mount.

Sonrise Spring

Spring, DOB 2001,approx 13 HH, she is a grey Station bred mare by Sonrise Turbo. Has had a couple of foals and is now enjoying getting out and about with her friends. Spring loves jumping and true to her name she just pops over everything.

Sonrise Chase the Wind

Sonrise Chase, TB/Station bred gelding, is by Sonrise Turbo and out of Spider Woman, a bay TB eventing mare. DOB 16 Jan 2006. Chase is a palomino gelding, bred as a sport horse for hunting and eventing and will excel in the show jumping arena. Chase is Dallas's full brother. He is owned by Emma Carr.

Weiti Persia

Weiti Persia, by Weiti Jackpot looks fabulous out and about. DOB July 2005. A dun and white around 15.2hh. She is a strong quiet mare with an intelligent eye. She has been trained in natural horsemaship and is proving to be a quiet, level headed ride. She is a sure footed trekker and has enjoyed the odd hunt. Persia is out of Tui. $4500.00

Hercules

Hercules is a  QH/Clydie X Gelding. DOB 8/11/06. He is by the Chestnut and white, QH, stallion 'Doc Indecent Exposure'.
Inquisitive by nature, with stunning good looks. He is a great ride, a quiet and quick learner.

Gracie

Gracey is 3/4 Clyde 1/4 TB mare. She is by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Holly a Clyde/TB. DOB 23 Nov 2005. Gracey has a very quiet and laidback nature. She is a safe mount for the nervous rider.

Sonrise Cool Charm

Sonrise Cool Charm is by Sonrise Turbo out of Elegance. Dob 28 Jan 2006. She is a very stylie grey mare  and is a fabulous all rounder. Cool Charm has started her flatwork and jumping training and is a very quick learner. Currently 15.2.  $4000.00

Sonrise Kowhai

Kowhai, by Sonrise Turbo, is owned by Dan & Zoe Fieten. She has been purpose bred to be an eventing and hunting mount for Zoe in the future. Her mother Itchema has exceptional ability as a jumper so this little filly has enormous potential. DOB 2006. Broken in and going well under saddle.

Sonrise Dream

Dream, DOB Sept 2006,  is a beautiful dun filly, sired in the Ruatoki area and out of Gold Rush a Station bred mare. She has a nice nature and has grown to become a lovely strong mare.

Sonrise Dallas

Sonrise Dallas, TB/Stationbred Gelding, is by Sonrise Turbo and out of Spider Woman, a bay TB eventing mare. DOB 28 Dec 2006. Dallas is a Dun Gelding, bred as a sport horse for eventing and will excel in the show jumping arena. Bold trekker. Dallas is Chase's full brother. Currently 15.3

Gemma, is by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Katie a Clyde/Stationbred. DOB 30 Nov 2005. She has matured big and strong and has that typical laid back attitude. Gemma is Cleo & Inga's full sister.

Echo

Echo  is a chestnut colt by the purebred Palomino Quarter horse stallion Beau Desert "Teddy", Grandsire Di Bar Flit. DOB 04/09/07. Echo is out of Zoe Fieten's Horse, Flirtacious. Unbroken and currently for sale. Please enquire.

Storm

This stunning, long legged filly. Broken in and going well, she is enjoying being a part of the camps. Stationbred, she is out of Cloud. Storms DOB 2007. A really quiet nature with a willingness to please. Will make an excellent hunting horse.

This is Sonrise Elton, DOB 10/12/07. Elton is a station bred gelding out of  Ellie by Sonrise Turbo. Started in 2011 and going well. Currently 15.3

Sonrise Eclipse

This chestnut and white filly is Sonrise Eclipse. She is by  Sonrise Turbo out of Tui. DOB 13/10/07. Started in 2011 and going well.

Inga

Inga is a bay filly by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Katie a Clyde/Stationbred. DOB October 2007. Mostly clyde in her breeding, she will mature big and strong and have that typical laid back nature. Inga is Cleo & Gemma's full sister.

Romeo

This is Latté. She is a chocolate brown & white Stationbred filly. DOB 15/11/08. She is by the black & white Stallion Amigo from the War Paint stud in Taupo. Out of Choco she will have a cruisey nature. She's a real stunner! Latte has a very quiet nature and will mature around 16 HH.

Sonrise Fletcher

Fletcher  DOB 14/11/08  is by the black & white Stallion Scout from the war paint stud in Taupo. He will be put to stud this season to produce black and white progengy with good jumping lines. He will mature 15.3 and has a super nature. His mother is Brandy.
