Sonrise Turbo
Sonrise Turbo is our local stud. A fabulous Clyde/Stationbred, coloured stallion from the East coast,  leaves quiet strong offspring throwing coloured, dun and palomino foals. Just look at Peppy, Casper, as well as Morocco, McGinty, Kowhai, Cool Charm and Chase to name a few. Check out this season's "New Arrivals." Circus
Circus is a Palomino Gisborne bred gelding, who derived his name when he sat down  while mountaineering on a Lottin Point Station. I think he was scared of heights. Circus has a lovely quiet nature, soft mouth and goes anywhere. He is a great confidence builder for the beginner rider but can also be enjoyed by an experienced rider.
 Sonrise Peppy
Peppy is a 16.1 hh dun and white Stationbred gelding. DOB 1999. Peppy is by Sonrise Turbo and has a gentle quiet nature like his dad and suits any rider. He has shown a particular talent for jumping where he clears anything he is put to. Hunt spars or show jumps are no problem for this big lad.
Tommy

Tommy is a 16hh, bay, gisborne bred gelding.

Been there dune that, larger than life but a big softy at heart.

Laid back attitude, with a very comfortable amble. Sadly Tommy passed away in June 08.
Bruno
Bruno is a  jet black 15.3hh stationbred gelding from Gisborne. DOB 1998, Sired by Wagon Wheel. Bruno is kind and gentle and just a big softie. He is a great confidence builder for beginner to intermediate riders.
Sonrise Buster
Buster, by Sonrise Turbo, is a 15.2hh grey and white gelding. He  is also the grandson of White Roc. Buster was born down on the back blocks of the Motu on the East coast. He is a great ride for anyone who is nervous. He is quiet and gentle, and loves attention. 
Joe Black

Joe Black, (NZEF registered under the name Wee Stakes), is a 16.3hh, Bay, TB gelding, specifically bred for showjumping.  DOB 1998. Sired by High Stakes out of Windee, (out of Warf), Joe comes from a line of top jumpers. With his quiet, sensible nature, Joe makes a safe full wire hunter and a top showjumper.
Richie
Richie is a Dun, Stationbred Gelding. 14.1 hh. DOB 2005. He has recently been broken in.
Dusty
Dusty is 15.2hh Appaloosa/Knabstrup mare. DOB 2001. Sturdy and strong, Dusty is great for Adult riders. Unflappable and confident in herself, she suits all levels of experience.
Elegance
Elegance or "Elle" is a striking grey  mare. DOB 1999. Elle is a quiet steady ride for the beginner to intermediate rider and a fantastic mother. Check out her progeny; Brave and Cool Charm.
Cleopatra
Cleopatra  is a bay mare by Shug's Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Katie a Clyde/Stationbred. DOB 4 Dec 2003. Currently at 15.2hh we hope she will grow to 16hh. Mostly clyde in her breeding she is very quiet, strong and is working well. She suits the beginner to intermediate rider. She is a full sister to Gemma & Inga.
Maddie
Maddie is a Clyde/Warmblood mare. DOB 1992 - 2006.  She has proven to be an exceptional mum producing foals with great colour. Check out Sonrise Beacon and Sonrise Chikita. (pictured). Unfortunately she and her latest foal were killed instantly by a lightning strike.
Sonrise McGinty
Sonrise McGinty, by Sonrise Turbo,  is a 15.1hh dun gelding. DOB 3 Oct 2001. This horse has fabulous colour and is very handsome. He hunted last season and started showjumping this season. McGinty is suitable for the intermediate to experience rider.
Moonshine
Moonshine hails from the East coast and is a cute 14.2hh palamino mare. DOB 2002. She is very quiet and laid back. Suitable for the beginner rider, she is a great addition to the Sonrise team.
Sonrise Morocco
Sonrise Morocco, by Sonrise Turbo, is our 15.1hh dun mare. DOB 7 July 2001. Morocco has developed into a great horse suitable for the intermediate rider. She is kind and steady. Sharon has been hunting her this season and she is going well.
Sonrise Bonfire
Sonrise Bonfire, by Sonrise Turbo, has grown into a handsome boy. DOB 5 Nov 2001. Now standing over 16.2hh he is being schooled by Lisa Davie in Auckland. He is quiet and gentle showing huge potential as a show hunter.
Polly
Polly is Gerald's favourite bay mare who hails from the Bay of Plenty and is an experienced pig hunting horse. She is a strong capable mare with heaps of spunk suiting an experienced rider. Whether you are mustering, hunting, showjumping or leading the trek Polly is an awesome ride!
Brandy
Brandy, 13/4 Stationbred 1/4 Clyde, is a piebald mare out of Choco and by 1 off Tui a Clyde/Stationbred. DOB 30 Dec 2004. She stands at 15.1hh and is still growing. Although still young she has a great nature and is a very steady mount. She has potential to mature into a very desirable mount.
Gold Rush
Goldie, from Sonrise Turbo's bloodline, hails from Ruatoki in the Bay of Plenty and is a stunning golden palamino mare. DOB 2000.  Her foal, Dream is a beautiful dun filly by "Harry," a Clyde/Gisborne bred  stallion.
Carlos
Carlos, hails from Gisborne. 15.1hh, grey crossbred gelding, athletic with a kind nature. Suited to the intermediate rider, he enjoys going out and about and jumping
Deago
Deago, DOB 2001, 15.1hh, QH cross, chestnut gelding. A lovely laid back nature with a willingness to please. Owned by Emma Carr. He has hunted one season.
Tui
Tui. A black 15.2hh mare is Bruno's full sister. DOB 1999. She is originally bred on the east coast before moving to Weiti Station and then onto Sonrise. Her two foals by Weiti Jackpot are exceptional and have great colour. Check out Weiti Persia and Diva, (pictured). Tui is a nice responsive ride for the intermediate rider.
White Roc
White Roc is a 14.2 hh grey gelding, from Gisborne. DOB 1996. Whitey has a lovely friendly manner and is known to be very smart and cheeky. He will eat all your lollies if you're not careful.  White Roc will boost the confidence of the most nervous rider.
Coal
 
14.1hh Stationbred, grey, gelding. DOB 2005. Just been broken in. Coal has a lovely nature.
Thunder
Thunder is a big round 15.1hh, Gisborne bred softie who makes sure he looks after his rider. DOB 1994. Thunder only has 3 gears making him perfect for the absolute beginner or nervous rider.
Freda

Freda, 16.3hh,  is 3/4 Clyde 1/4 TB mare. She is by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Holly a Clyde/TB. DOB Oct 2004. She has an extremely quiet nature and will make a fabulous hunter in the future.  She is a full sister to Grace and Hosea.

Hemi
Hemi  is as cute as a button. A 14.1hh bay gelding station bred pony.  Hemi was born and bred at Ruatoki in the Bay of Plenty. He is a quiet safe ride to give a nervous rider heaps of confidence.
Jigsaw
Hi my name is Jigsaw. I am a 14.2hh bay and white gelding. I have just moved to Sonrise from the East coast with my buddy Puzzle. Although still young I am quiet and love to take people riding.
Puzzle
Hi I'm Puzzle. I'm a 14hh bay and white gelding from the East coast. Me and my mate Jigsaw love our new home. I'm a quiet easy ride and can't wait to meet you.
Billy
Billy is a grey station bred gelding from the East coast. DOB 1991. He may not be the prettiest horse but you can guarantee you'll feel safe when you're on board. His old owner used to go shooting off his back so if you're nervous or a beginner this horse is for you.
Black Jack

Black Jack is a Stationbred gelding from the east coast. DOB 1992. He has stacks of character and unusual white markings around his eyes. He is honest, strong and steady, never putting a foot wrong. A real confidence booster for the intermediaterider.
Sonrise Casper
Casper is another Sonrise Turbo horse, bred in the Bay of Plenty. DOB 2001. A 14.1hh gelding, he is kind and willing suiting an intermediate rider. His golden dun and white colouring makes him very striking. He is a capable jumper.
Dodge

Dodge, DOB 2000,  is a 16.2hh, chestnut,  Clyde/Stationbred gelding.  Big and strong, he is suitable for adult riders. He is jumping well and Gerald is hunting him this season.
Boaz

Boaz is a Stationbred gelding from the east coast. Grand sire Pintado Desperado. DOB 2004. Boaz has a quiet & laidback nature and is going well. He is a quick learner and is starting to round up nicely under saddle.
Barby

 Barby is a 14.1hh Appy/Stationbred mare from the east coast. DOB 2005. Although still young, she has a lovely quite nature.
Misty

Misty, DOB 2003, by "Harry," a Clyde/Gisborne bred  stallion,  is a black and white mare from Gisbore. Though recently broken in, she has a very quiet nature and is going well. She enjoys pig hunting and trekking with her new friends at Sonrise Station.
Knight

The black Knight, DOB 1996, hails from Gisborne and is an ex shepherd's hack. His smooth amble allows you to ride in comfort and he has an amazing jump. Standing at 15.3 he is an intermediate to experienced ride.
Toast

Toast, a Gisborne bred/Appy gelding, has a lovely quiet nature and is suitable for a beginner rider. DOB 2003. He stands at 15.1hh.
Choco

Choco is a 15hh liver and white mare originally from Northland. She has a timid character but is extremely quiet to ride. She arrived at Sonrise in foal with Brandy.
Frosty

Frosty, is a 14.2hh, Arab/Clydie X gelding. DOB 2001approx. Frosty is well suited to the intermediate or experienced rider.
Cloud
This stunning grey mare is Cloud. DOB 2001. She originates from the eastern BOP. She has a lovely nature and has bred a beautiful long legged foal named Storm.
Tonto

"Tonto" is one of the favourites at Sonrise Station and is well loved by all who call his name! He is an experienced Gisborne bred shepherd's hack, suiting the intermediate rider.
Spider Woman
Spider Woman (Emily) is a  TB bay mare 16.1hh. By True Style out of My Dancer. Emily is now a retired eventer/showjumper. She is the mother of Sonrise Chase and Sonrise Dallas.
Bella
Bella is a Clyde/TB mare. 16.3hh. DOB 2005. Bella has just been started and is quiet as. Always willing to please.
Santo

Santo, DOB 2004, is a Welsh/Stationbred Gelding. His sire was a Welsh Stallion called Storm Boy. Santos has just been started and is very cute next to his huge friends when out on a trek. He will make a cute lead rein pony or children.
Big Sister
This is Big Sister, a coloured stationbred mare. DOB 2002. Born and bred in Ruatoki country in the back blocks of the Bay of Plenty. Used for pig hunting, she is strong and sturdy but has a heap of get up and go if needed.
Sonrise Beacon
Beacon, 1/2 Clyde, 1/4 Gisborne, 1/4 Warmblood Gelding. By "Harry," a Clyde/Gisborne bred  stallion, out of Maddie a Clyde/Warmblood. DOB 15 Dec 2004.  His roan and white coat draw your eye but  it's his two blue eyes that capture your imagination. Beacon has just been started and is enjoying his new experiences at Sonrise!
Sonrise Brave Heart

Sonrise Brave is another "Harry" youngster. DOB 17 Dec 2004. Brave is a very stylie sport horse type. His conformation, attitude and white markings will make him a very desirable mount. He has been started and is going well.
Magic
This is Magic. He is a black stationbred gelding, 15.2hh. DOB 2000 approx. He is owned by Emma & Lincoln Carr. Magic is an awesome, well mannered, go anywhere horse. He is currently being trained in natural horsemanship, dressage and jumping. Magic will make a great all-rounder.

Roany

Roany, 14.2hh, DOB 2001, a broodmare originally from Gisborne. She will be restarted this season.
Sonrise Spring

Spring, DOB 2001, is a grey Stationbred mare by Sonrise Turbo. She has just been restarted and will make a great little riding pony after being in the broodmare paddock for several years.
Sonrise Chase the Wind
Sonrise Chase, TB/Stationbred gelding, is by Sonrise Turbo and out of Spider Woman, a bay TB eventing mare. DOB 16 Jan 2006. Chase is a palomino gelding, bred as a sport horse for eventing and will excel in the show jumping arena. Case is Dallas' full brother.
Weiti Persia
Weiti Persia, by Weiti Jackpot looks fabulous as a 3 yr old. DOB July 2005. A dun and white we hope she will mature around 15.2hh. She is a strong quiet mare with an intelligent eye. We hope to break her in this season. Persia is out of Tui.
Playboy

Playboy is a  QH/Clydie X Gelding. DOB 8/11/06. He is by the Chestnut and white, QH, stallion 'Doc Indecent Exposure'.
Inquisitive by nature, with stunning good looks. DOB 2006.
Grace
Grace is 3/4 Clyde 1/4 TB mare. She is by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Holly a Clyde/TB. DOB 23 Nov 2005. Grace is owned by Emma and Lincoln Carr. She is a full sister to Freda and Hosea.
 Sonrise Cool Charm
Sonrise Cool Charm is by Sonrise Turbo out of Elegance. Dob 28 Jan 2006. She is a very stylie grey filly and will make a fabulous sport horse.
Sonrise Kowhai
Kowhai, by Sonrise Turbo, is owned by Dan & Zoe Fieten. She has been purpose bred to be an eventing and hunting mount for Zoe in the future. Her mother Itchema has exceptional ability as a jumper so this little filly has enormous potential. DOB 2006.
Sonrise Dream

Dream, DOB Sept 2006,  is a beautiful dun filly by "Harry," a Clyde/Gisborne bred  stallion, out of Gold Rush a Stationbred mare. She has a nice nature and should grow to be a lovely strong mare.
Hosea

Hosea is 3/4 Clyde 1/4 TB gelding. He is by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Holly a Clyde/TB. DOB 1 Dec 2006. Orphaned at birth, he has been hand reared, so he loves people and has a very quiet nature. Hosea has just been started. We will turn him out till next summer so he can mature before we train him further.
Ashburn White Lightning

This is Ash, a chestnut and white, QH/Clyde Paint, gelding. DOB 2 Sept 2006. True to the Ashburn line, Ash has a lovely gentle nature.
Sonrise Dallas

Sonrise Dallas, TB/Stationbred Gelding, is by Sonrise Turbo and out of Spider Woman, a bay TB eventing mare. DOB 28 Dec 2006. Dallas is a Dun Gelding, bred as a sport horse for eventing and will excel in the show jumping arena. Dallas is Chase & Fraser's full brother.
Gemma
Gemma, is by the Clydesdale Stallion Ashburn Sensational Kinver (Zac), out of Katie a Clyde/Stationbred. DOB 30 Nov 2005. She will mature big and strong and have that typical laid back attitude. Gemma is Cleo & Inga's full sister.
Cesar

Cesar, DOB 2005, is a Palomino, Clydie X gelding from Gisborne. Though rarely handled he has a quiet temperament. Cesar has just begun the starting process.
Echo
Echo  is a chestnut colt by the purebred Palomino Quarter horse stallion Beau Desert "Teddy", Grandsire Di Bar Flit. DOB 04/09/07. Echo is out of Zoe & Dan Fieten's Horse, Flirt. 
Sonrise Elite
This grey filly is called Sonrise Elite. She was sired by Sonrise Turbo out of Zoe & Dan Fieten's horse, Ichema. DOB 16/10/07.
Summer Mystery
This is Summer Mystery, out of Chrissie. DOB 24/11/07. Summer Mystery is a lovely long legged filly that was born unexpectedly but was a lovely surprise!
Storm
This stunning, long legged filly is new to the Sonrise team. She is out of Cloud. DOB 2007.
Sonrise Elton
This is Sonrise Elton, DOB 10/12/07. Elton is is a stationbred colt out of  Ellie by Sonrise Turbo.
Sonrise Eclipse
This chestnut and white filly is Sonrise Eclipse. She is by  Sonrise Turbo out of Tui. DOB 13/10/07.
Play Boy
Playboy is a stunning bay Clyde/TB gelding. DOB 2006.
Inga

Sonrise Fraser is a chestnut Stationbred/TB colt, by Sonrise Turbo out of Spider Woman (Emily). DOB 18/11/08. Fraser is the full brother of Sonrise Chase and Sonrise Dallas.
